CHRIS K. BECKER

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Chris completed his undergraduate degree in History and Political Science at McMaster University. During his undergraduate degree, Chris was a member of the Varsity football team and also on the Dean’s Honour List. After completing his undergraduate degree, Chris earned a Master’s degree in Political Science, with a specialization in Public Administration at Brock University.

Chris received his law degree from the University of Windsor in 2007. During his legal studies, Chris worked at Legal Assistance of Windsor providing legal services to low income residents of the Windsor community. In this role, Chris gained experience representing individuals before the Landlord and Tenant Board. During law school, Chris was also an executive of the Labour and Employment Law Society.

Throughout his education, Chris was active in numerous political campaigns and gained practical media and public relations experience.

Chris articled with the City of Ottawa representing the City of Ottawa in civil matters and also serving as a prosecutor before the Ontario Court of Justice. Chris has experience conducting prosecutions for violations of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, the Building Code Act, and numerous City of Ottawa By-laws.

Chris began working with Dickie & Lyman in November of 2008. Chris is excited to apply his background in law and public policy to promote pragmatic solutions to the policy issues facing the Canadian Housing Industry.
