JUNE L. CARTER
PRACTICE
June Carter has worked with John Dickie and David Lyman since 2000. June articled with Dickie & Arnold in 2001. She was called to the Bar in September 2002, and has continued working as a lawyer with John and David since that time. June continued with John and David when they formed Dickie & Lyman Lawyers LLP in November 2003.
RESIDENTIAL TENANCY LAW
June focuses on the following legal work for residential landlords:
- applications to raise rents - eviction of tenants and occupants - defending landlords against tenant claims - notice issues - lease interpretation issues - appeals to the Divisional Court
June performed substantial research on the changes between the Tenant Protection Act and the Residential Tenancies Act for the book Working with the Residential Tenancies Act, co-authored by John Dickie and David Lyman.
ASSESSMENT LAW & GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
Since 2000, June has supported John and David with extensive legal research on the ever-changing property tax legislation and regulations, and has assisted John and David with the following matters involving property taxes:
- evaluation of property tax assessments for multi-residential and other properties - assisting landlords with allocation of taxes to tenants - assistance with political action
